Chilly-Willy is an environmental vigilante, waterman, and grandfather fighting alongside environmentalists to maintain what his small Mexican surf town once was: clean.

In the stunning surf town of Sayulita, Mexico, local legend and environmental advocate Chilly Willy leads the charge in keeping his homeland clean. With humor, heart, and captivating visuals, "Sayu-Limpia" delves into the waste management challenges faced by Sayulita's residents amidst a rapid population and tourism boom. Together Chilly Willy and a determined bunch of local volunteers work tirelessly to prevent garbage from reaching the ocean and protect the beauty of their coastal town. This story celebrates the resilience and unity of a community dedicated to protecting their home and embracing grassroots environmental stewardship.

Our Impact

What started as an event for Earth Day in 2023 brought together a group of local non-profits and changemakers together in Sayulita, Mexico that would lead to the development of a grass-roots movement promoting education and sustainability. Our Annual Earth Day event attracts hundreds of in-person attendees with booths from local non-profits, food and beverage, wellness activities, and a beach clean-up.

This event has since evolved to partner with the World Wildlife Fund and their program Olas y Redes. Together, we hold monthly clean-ups, lead educational workshops with schools, and collaborate with local actors to remedy infrastructure issues and cultural awareness. To date, we have cleaned more than a ton of waste from beaches and waterways.
